Description
An Artifact with a wildcard in "device_types_compatible" is installed on any device type. The main purpose is to support more generic, not hardware specific, Artifacts such as shell scripts or html files. This is mainly driven by the new support for application updates with Update Modules.
User value (why)
- Support for hardware-independent applications
Size (SP)
- TBD
Acceptance criteria:
- There must be a way to specify a device type in an artifact that is accepted by all devices, regardless of their device type
- Whether or not it's possible to specify submatching (e.g. "abc*") is TBD
- Client must accept artifacts with this device type
- Backend must schedule an artifact with such a device type to any device
- Onboarding is updated to use wildcard device type for the OOTB Artifact
