When using "show key" for a device (several places in the UI), it is a bit difficult to work with: the lines are not equally long, and if you mark it, copy and paste it to a text editor, it shows on one long line but with some spaces.
The use case for this feature is for a human to compare the key here with what's known to be in the device (ensure no man in the middle or rouge device trying to spoof). However, it is only going to be used infrequently, as it's not a scalable method for authorizing devices.
Here are a few suggestions to improving the usability:
- Show a SHA-256 checksum of the key in addition (this is common practice for certs and keys - just check the cert in your browser)
- Add a button "Copy public key" that copies it correctly formatted so it can be pasted into a text editor.
